Gas furnace test with CO checks
Full combustion analysis: ambient, return, and supply CO all at 0 ppm, flue CO 8 ppm, O2 and stack temp verified — documented proof of safe operation.
MEASUREQUICK DIAGNOSTICS
Flue gas analysis on every fall heating maintenance — verifying clean, safe combustion with a calibrated analyzer, not just a visual once-over.
WHAT WE MEASURE
A combustion analyzer samples the exhaust while your furnace runs — measuring what the flame is actually doing, not what it looks like it's doing.
Undiluted CO in the flue, measured in parts per million. Elevated CO means incomplete combustion — the number one thing we check, every time.
Oxygen percentage and stack temperature reveal whether the burner is tuned: too much excess air wastes fuel, too little makes CO.
Calculated from the flue gas readings — how much of your fuel actually becomes heat versus going up the chimney.
WHY EVERY FALL
Heat exchangers crack, burners drift out of tune, and vents deteriorate over a summer of sitting idle. We test every fall because that's when it matters.
CO is odorless and colorless. A cracked heat exchanger or poorly tuned burner can put it in your airstream — the analyzer catches what eyes can't.
A burner running with too much excess air is literally heating the outdoors. Tuning verified by measurement keeps efficiency where it should be.
Every fall maintenance includes the combustion readings in your report — the numbers, not just "furnace looks good."
